We’ve marked another year of delivering significant energy savings for members by being named on the shortlist for the Energy Company of the Year Northern Lights Award.
Orchard is Yorkshire’s only representative on the shortlist, having been named alongside Northumbrian Water and Tata Chemicals in the running for the prize, which will be awarded as a part of the second UK Northern Powerhouse International Conference & Exhibition at Manchester Central on 21st and 22nd February.
The awards are designed to highlight collaboration between companies, and within companies, in the Northern Powerhouse geographical area, ultimately leading to growing the Northern Powerhouse and helping to re-balance the economy.
The winners will be announced at the Northern Lights Awards Dinner on the evening of the first day of the Conference and Exhibition. The awards will be presented by Lord Kerslake of the House of Lords Finance Committee.
The Northern Lights Awards are a celebration of the scale and extent of the opportunities in the Northern Powerhouse.
Amar Hussain, managing director of Orchard Energy, said: “To be shortlisted for such a fantastic award, in such illustrious company, is a tremendous honour.
“But it’s also a wonderful reflection of the hard work undertaken on behalf of our members during the last 12 months, and the energy savings we have been able to deliver to businesses and organisations of all sizes as a result.
“Our regional offices provide a high level of service to clients throughout the UK, while our 6C initiative in the Calderdale region has helped save local businesses hundreds of thousands of pounds.”
